Annual Customer Appreciation Event... Wow!

Many libarians have taken advantage of our Annual Customer Appreciation Event (15% off) that was announced last week. All of the orders received for in-stock items have been packed and shipped.

Extended to Feb 28 for libraries
There were only 2 days left to save 15% on purchases from Global Genealogy. However, several librarians requested a deadline extension insofar as they need an extra week or so to get purchase orders through their approval process. In response, we are extending our annual customer appreciation event until the end of the month, for libraries.
(If you didn't notice our email of last week, regarding the "Global Genealogy Annual Customer Appreciation Event" read on for details.)

You can still enjoy 15% off of any purchase from Global Genealogy until February 28th at midnight. If you already took advantage of the discount but thought of somthing else after, you can make another order.

To take advantage of the offer, all you have to do is type the words...

BOOK - Whence They Came: Irish Origins From pre 1900 New Brunswick Death Notices
By: Peter Murphy
Published by Global Heritage Press, 2010
More than 250, 000 Irish immigrants passed through the ports of New Brunswick during the half century from the close of the Napoleonic Wars to Canadian Confederation in 1867. Today their descendants-numbering in the millions-are to be found in places as far flung as Alaska and Australia, along the banks of the St. John and the Miramichi, the Charles and the Potomoc, in the shadow of Toronto's CN Tower, and in every corner of the globe. Interest in their history grows-it seems-in proportion to the number of their descendants. Where, these descendants ask, did we come from? Simply put, this work is designed to offer the most reliable response to this most asked question! Gathered together here are nearly three thousand death notices, transcribed verbatim from pre-1900 New Brunswick newspapers, each of which identifies a specific place of origin in Ireland. Available in both hardcover and CD.

BOOK - Valley of The Humber, With new Introduction and Index
By K.M. Lizars (1913), Lauren Coules (2010)
Originally published by William Briggs, Toronto, 1913
A new introduction and index by Lauren Coules, 2010
This historical reprint by Global Heritage Press, Milton, 2010

K.M. Lizars covers three centuries in The Valley of the Humber, [Toronto area, Ontario] from its founding until the author's current time period in the early twentieth century. The book is organized into fifteen chapters ranging from chronological historical events of the area to relevant themed content. In terms of its completeness, with respect to history, geography and culture, this book is still the authority in the topic. However, the language, writing style and composition are of course becoming quite dated. Prior to the reprinting of this edition, the book had lacked an index. This new feature will help historians utilize the source in a more efficient manner. Available in both hardcover and CD.

The Value of Putting Queries on Online Message Boards
    By: Shirley Gage Hodges
It is important that we do not overlook the value of putting queries on message boards. I like to think of them as a putting a message in a bottle and throwing it into the ocean. It might come to rest in exactly the right place and find the right person.
