Cataraqui Cemetery (Kingston, Ontario) Granted National Historic Designation

On January 17, 2012 the Honourable Peter Kent, Canada's Enviroment Minister and the Minister responsible for Parks Canada announced that the Cataraqui Cemetery in Kingston, Ontario has been granted National Historic Designation being classed as a "Historic Community".
The cemetery, established in 1850, is the burial site for many famous Canadians - including The Right Honourable Sir. John A. McDonald, the first Prime Minister of our Country in 1867.
