By: Rick Roberts, Biography & Archived Articles
The March 02, 2009 deadline for closure of the online data site FamilyHistoryOnline is fast approaching. FamilyHistoryOnline Family History Online was run by a small but dedicated team of individuals from the Federation of Family History Societies (FFHS), an organization with a combined membership of more than 300,000 members worldwide.
Most, but not all of the records that have resided at FamilyHistoryOnline, have been transferred to findmypast.com.
Those who have not used all of their vouchers/membership have been promised that their unused portions are transferable to findmypast.com . "If you have credit remaining on your FamilyHistoryOnline voucher you will be able to spend it on familyhistoryonline.org before noon on Monday, 2nd March 2009. Or, if you prefer, you can transfer your remaining balance to Findmypast.com, where you will be given PayAsYouGo credits. You will be able to do this from 2 March onwards."
The details of the transfer, and how to go about exchanging your FamilyHistoryOnline balance for PayAsYouGo credits at findmypast.com are are available at: http://www.familyhistoryonline.net/general/motd.shtml
