Faster Delivery for Global Genealogy Shipments to USA Customers
Column published: 21 June 2008
By: Rick Roberts,   Biography & Archived Articles

GlobalGenealogy.com Inc is pleased to announce that we have dramatically upgraded our delivery services for shipments destined to our American customers.

In May 2008 United Parcel Service (UPS) began a trial period during which they handled our shipments to the USA. Every shipment history was recorded. UPS passed the trial with flying colours. UPS reduced the time that it takes for delivery to the USA by as much as 75%. They didn't have a single loss, damage or late shipment.

On top of speedier delivery, our customers received an email at time of shipment providing the tracking number for their shipment and a web link where you could track exactly were your shipment is from the time that it left our building until it arrived at your doorstep.

All of this at a cost similar to postal service.

As a result of the successful trial, UPS officially replaces our previous carrier ( Canada Post/US Postal Service ) for deliveres to our customers in the United States.

The exception is Hawaii and Alaska. Our usual service to Hawaii and Alaska will continue to be via Postal Service because of cost. However UPS Expedited and Express services are available for Hawaii and Alaska customers who need faster delivery than postal service, and are less concerned about cost.

Canadian Deliveries
Canada Post Expedited and Express Post continue to be our preferred method of transport for shipments to our Canadian customers. Canada Post's services have been reliable, quick and very cost effective for deliveries within Canada.

In the 16 years that Canada Post has been delivering our Canadian shipments, there have been less than a dozen claims for lost or damaged goods. An amazing record considering the thousands of shipments that they have handled for Global Genealogy's Canadian customers.

Deliveries Outside of Canada and USA
Our standard service for shipments to countries other than Canada and the USA will continue to be International Post Small Packet, Air (Air Parcel if greater than 2 Kg). The combination of cost and speed of delivery is very hard to beat.

However UPS Expedited and Express service is available. Contact our order desk at 905-854-2176 (Canada) or by email for UPS transit time and cost.

We ship daily to Australia, New Zealand, Scandanavia, UK and European Union countries. There are some countries that we will not ship to because of high levels of theft and internet fraud -- Nigeria and Sudan being two examples.
