BOOK - Dictionnaire généalogique des familles du Québec - JETTÉ
By René Jetté
Published by Presses de l'Université de Montréal, Montreal, 2003 Edition
This cornerstone of French Canadian genealogical research lists Quebec marriages, births and deaths up to 1730 using parish records, census records, notarial records, and others. Jette sometimes includes several generations of a family, often taking them back to their origins in France.
Dictionnaire Genealogique des Familles du Quebec is recognized as one of the most important reference works for early Quebec families.
The book includes a brief introduction (in French), the remainder of the book being the genealogical extractions. Content is organized alphabetically by surname. "Google's translate tool" can help non-Francophones with translations of entries.
