BOOK - Guide to Quebec Catholic Parishes and Published Parish Marriage Records.
By: Jeanne Sauve White.
This book is intended to help researchers locate their Catholic ancestors in Quebec, Canada.
Each county of the Province has it's own page. For each county there are references designed to help the researcher locate the county geographically, locate parishes within the county, locate the archives in which records for that county are housed and become aware of available published marriage registers.
On each county page, in addition to the name of the county, there is a map number referenced to the maps found in the front of the book, a notation whether the county is located north or south of the St. Lawrence river or on the Gaspe peninsula and a general reference indicating the location of the county in relationship to Quebec, Montreal, Ottawa or Three Rivers. The location of the archives which house early records for that county are given.
This book contains a wealth of information, also including an index, list of publishers and societies which published parish records at the time.
146 pages, paper back.
