BOOK - Eganville - Jewel of the Bonnechere 1825 - 1991
by Carol Bennett.
In 1849 John Egan built a stone grist mill on the south side of the river. The building of the mill may be described as the catalyst which began the growth of the village of Eganville. Eganville is a town in Renfrew County, Ontario.
In 1948 an Old Home Week souvenir booklet was printed. Eganville - Jewel of the Bonnechere 1825 - 1991, a complete history of Eganville, includes most of the content of that original brief history plus much additional material that was not available at the time hat the 1948 histoy was printed.
Read the stories of the beginnings and development of business, education, churches, and local society in general, and enjoy the many pictures that illustrate the volume. Also included are genealogies and family sketches of some of the early settlers.
