Alfred-THERIEN-circa-1910
This is Alfred THERIEN at work in one of the mills in Almonte about 1910.
He died of TB shortly afterwards.
Photo submitted by Ken Wright.
Ken Wright gives further information: ". . . his wife (my grandmother) was Rose BLAIS who moved to Almonte with her sister Pauline when they were both teenagers  (approximately 1905) from somewhere in Quebec. Rose lived the rest of her life in Almonte passing away at the ripe old age of 102 in 1984. Pauline two years her junior, also an Almonte resident, was also long-lived and passed away shortly after Rose. Rose only had two children, my mother Alma, who is 89 years old and lives in Portland, Oregon; and her brother Ernest who moved to Temiskaming, Quebec and passed away in the 1960's. Her sister Pauline married a D.J. BOLTON and had 10 children I believe. One of her daughters Beatrice married John D. BYRNE and raised 10 children in Almonte. As far as I know some of them still reside in the Almonte area."
