My interest continues to be the WYNN and CLYNE families. John and Jane WYNN lived in Beckwith Twp. when their first child, Christopher, was born on Nov 31 (!), 1831 according to the Anglican Archives of Ottawa. My belief is that Jane (Christopher's mother) died and was replaced as John's wife by another Jane recently identified as Jane ROSE, b. in IRL. John's first wife, Jane ?, Christopher's mother, is listed in the 1891 census of Carrick Twp. (Bruce Co.) as born in Ontario. The WYNN family lived in Montague Twp. at least from March 1834 (birth of dau. Barbara) until leaving in 1854 to trek to Bruce Co. where they settled in Carrick Twp. The 1851 census listing their family includes a dau. Jane, age 16, of whom I have found no further trace. She does not appear to have come west to Carrick in 1854. I still seek word of her.

My grandfather was George, son of John and Jane WYNN, b. 1852 and hence 2 years old on the long walk and wagon ride west in 1854. An older brother, Robert, b. ca.1847, went to Western Canada as a CPR railway engineer. I am in touch with his descendants in Edmonton.

My mother's maternal line, the CLYNEs (Michael CLYNE and wife Ann GARDINER) lived in Kitley Twp. (Leeds Co.) until about 1872-73 when the parents and 5 of their 10 children came west to settle in Carrick Twp. Daughter Maria married Christopher WYNN in March 1873 at Wingham (Huron Co.) and Maria's younger sister Esther Ann married Christopher's younger brother George WYNN and became parents of 3 daughters, of whom the youngest was my mother, Myra Pearl.

I still seek information on the time and route of entry to Canada of my gr-grandfather John WYNN, whose first documented appearance is as father of Christopher in 1831. I also seek information on his daughter Jane (age 16 in 1851 census). Others in the family were: Christopher b. 1831; Barbara b. 1834; Lucy Ann (called Louisan in John's will) b. 1841; Rachel b. 1843; Robert b. 847; George b. 1852; Dorendo b.1 855 in Carrick, d. 1861. In addition, I seek to learn about the five CLYNEs who remained in Kitley.
