Harry Purdy, hpurdy@storm.ca

I am researching the following names: PURDY of Carleton and Lanark Counties (family name); McEWEN of Carleton County (my grandmother's line); BEAMAN of Carleton County (my grandmother's mother's line).
My father was William Harrison PURDY, born 5 July 1912 in North Gower, Ontario, died 14 Jan 1994 in Almonte.
My mother was Florence Thelma MASSEY, born Ompah, Ontario on 16 June 1915 and died 20 August 1994 in Almonte. Her parents were Ira Edward MASSEY b. 9 Sep. 1868 in Fine, New York..went to Ompah, Ontario as a youth, died 7 November 1951 in Carleton Place and Mina Sophie VANKOUGHNET, born 6 March 1871 in Ardoch, Ontario, died 1941 in Franktown, Ontario.
My grandfather William PURDY was born October, 1876 in Prospect, Beckwith Township and died November 1944 in Carleton Place. From research done but not confirmed his father was James PURDY and mother was Elizabeth ?? of Carleton or Lanark Counties.
My grandmother Elsie Edith McEWEN was born 25 July 1881 in North Gower and died 5 May 1934 in Beckwith Township. Her parents were Albert McEWEN and Elizabeth BEAMAN who are buried at the Malakof Cemetery.
The Massey research was done by my cousin Vada (Massey) Davidson of Lynn, Ontario and published in a book in 1996 titled "The Massey - Vankoughnet Connection". Some PURDY research was done by William Pierson of Tennessee and published in a book in 1996 "The Purdys of Carleton County", but did not include my line.
