William LEATHERLAND and wife Ann were from England. William, b. ca. 1825, was a stonemason in Byward, Ottawa in 1871. His daughter Mary, b. ca. 1849 in Ottawa, d. June 8, 1925, m. Thomas Constantine MAGUIRE on April 30, 1872. They were my gr-grandparents. A sister, Delia LEATHERLAND, b. Nov. 13, 1867, d. July 13, 1870. Another sister, Eliza LEATHERLAND, m. J. BIELER. They had a daughter Ethel BIELER. I am looking for more LEATHERLAND and BIELER siblings as well as detailed information. (See updated Leatherland query below)

I would be interested to know the names and addresses of people researching the EARL family of Leeds & Grenville who are descended from Joseph EARL, an Englishman, with 16 children who settled in 1702 on a 200 acre farm in Rhode Island.

Sgt. Francis DUKE and his wife Elizabeth GILLAND and 10 children from Clune, Leitrim, Ireland on July 4, 1830 settled in Marlboro Twp., Lot 2, Con.7. Children: Frances West (Constantine MAGUIRE), Mary (Richard LISSON), Jane (Irwin MOORE), Catherine (Christopher LISSON), Ruth (James D. MILLS), William C. W, John Erasmus (Margaret ?), Elinor (Edward BURCHELL), Caroline (Samuel CLARKE), and ? Any and all info on the above is welcomed.

I would like to submit the following query whereby the two daughters of Sgt. Francis DUKE and Eliza GILLAND -- namely Mary and Catherine -- from Marlborough Twp. married two brothers, Richard and Christopher LISSON, parents unknown. I am submitting two charts of what I have and would like any and all information about the families, descendants, etc.

William LEATHERLAND, born 1825 Kingston area, died Sept 6, 1872 in Ottawa, son of John LEATHERLAND and Jane MOON, married Ann ? 1848. She was born 1830 Ireland, died Apr 20, 1910, Carleton Place. Children: Mary b. 1849, Elizabeth b. 1853, William b. 1857, Delia b. 1867. All buried Beechwood, Ottawa. Siblings of William: Robert b. 1823, James b. 1827, Elizabeth b. 1831, John b. 1832, Charlotte b. 1843. I am the g-grandson of William and Ann and I would appreciate it if descendents or researchers would contact me.

Alfred AYERST, born 1824 England, died Dec. 18, 1891, Sherbrooke, Que., son of Ambrose and Charlotte AYERST. He had three wives. 1) Nancy Maria FRENCH, b. 1826, d. April 3 1854, Kingston Twp., married Jan. 14, 1843. Children: Edward b. 1844, Lucinda b. 1846, Charlotte b. 1847, Sarah Jane b. 1849, Charles Lloyd b. 1851, Caroline Eliza Maria b. 1854.
2) Eliza Jane GATES, b. 1834, d. 1862 (d/o John and Caroline GATES) married Jun 29, 1854. One child: Thomas b. 1858.
3) Mary Ann TODD, Children: William Allen Stanley b. 1875, Douglas, Ambrose, Victoria Georgina, William Henry Colclough.
