           Researching JOHNSTON (Pontiac Co., Shawville / Clarendon Twp.); MURRAY (Pontiac Co., Shawville / Clarendon Twp.); McLEAN (Lanark Co., Pontiac Co., Thurso, PQ); CAMPBELL (Renfrew Co., McNab Twp.); and McINNES (Renfrew Co., McNab Twp.).

Added October, 1998:

           I am searching for more information on the families of Margaret MURRAY. She was born 1882 in Bristol Twp., Pontiac County, PQ to Allan MURRAY and Rachel JOHNSTON of Shawville, Quebec. Margaret MURRAY (age 22, spinster) married James TOSH (age 28, bachelor) on 29 June 1904 in Almonte, Ontario. Both parties are listed as residents of Almonte at the time of the marriage.

           James TOSH was born 1882 in Almonte, Ontario to William TOSH and Clematine SYME. James' occupation is listed as butcher. The best I can determine is that James TOSH died in 1914. I have no record of any children from this marriage.

           Margaret MURRAY (age 33, widow) married for a second time to John COCHRANE (age 41, widower). They were married on 2 September 1914 in Almonte, Ontario. At this time Margaret is listed as a resident of Almonte and John is listed as a resident of Pembrooke.

           John COCHRANE was born 1873 in Gratton, Renfrew Co. to Thomas COCHRANE and Mary Jane WRIGHT. John's occupation is laborer.

           John COCHRANE and Margaret MURRAY had a child Murtle Margaret COCHRANE, born 7 August 1915.

Added February, 1999:

           I am looking for more information on my great aunt and uncle Frances Ida (nee WADDELL) MURRAY and George Walker MURRAY. George Walker MURRAY born 11 May 1891 in Bristol, Quebec. I believe that he died on 12 November 1942 in Michigan City, Indiana and may have been buried in Greenwood Cemetery. He married Frances Ida WADDELL on 1 December 1911 in Canada. Frances Ida (nee WADDELL) MURRAY was born in 1893 in Clarendon Twp., Quebec and I believe died in Michigan City, Indiana in the 1990's.
