           I have recently learned that my grandfather, William ROBINSON, was from the Lanark County area and hope to find more information about him and /or his family. The following information comes from the 1891 census of Carleton Place:

Name Age Born Parents
Born
Religion Trade
Mrs. John ROBINSON 42 Ont. Ire. Presb. Widow
Annie J. 23 Ont. Ont. Presb. Room girl
Margaret 21 Ont. Ont. Presb. Woollen factory
John A. (twin) 18 Ont. Ont. Presb. Railroad call boy
Florence (twin) 18 Ont. Ont. Presb. Woollen factory
William 16 Ont. Ont. Presb.
Albert H. 13 Ont. Ont. Presb.
Lorne 11 Ont. Ont. Presb.
Libby M. 8 Ont. Ont. Presb.
           John ROBINSON (the husband & father of the above family) died March 17, 1883. His death certificate states that he was 40 years old and was born in Kitley Twp. Unfortunately, I don't know the wife's name. However, I am almost certain that this is my grandfather's family.
           I need to know who the above John ROBINSON's parents were. Could his father's name have been Stephen ROBINSON (who was living in Kitley ON at the time) and not Arthur ROBINSON? If his father was Arthur, he would have been born in Ireland pre 1831 when that family arrived in Canada.
           I have copies of the marriage certificates of five of the ROBINSON daughters - Ellen, Annie, Margaret, Honore Florence, and Libby.
- Ellen married Oscar Edwin EARL (1888 in Almonte);
- Annie married Fred Alexander STEWART (1899, Almonte);
- Margaret married William OWENS (1905, Carleton Place);
- Honore Florence married George Stanford VANALLEN (1901, Carleton Place);
- Libby married Frederick STANZEL (1907, Carleton Place).

           The OFCA lists a William OWENS and Margaret (Robinson) OWENS in their Waterloo listings - I presume they are the same Margaret and William who married in 1905. But can find no further information on any of the others. Nor can I find any further information on Maggienta ROBINSON who is listed in the 1901 Census, South Lanark, Carleton Place with Florence and Libby.
