  9. Plomer Young MERRICK b. 18-Dec-1844, Montague Twp., Ont., d. 13-Nov-1888, Merrickville, Ont.

My other research interests are: DOBIE world-wide, but especially in Owen Sound, Thessalon, Bruce Mines, Port Arthur, & Middlesex Co., Ont.; MEIKLE in Ayrshire, SCT. and Canada; GREENSHIELDS in SCT. and Quebec; (these two lines are detailed in the MEIKLE Bible & Documents on this website); COATSWORTH in Durham, ENG. and descendants world-wide; MILNE in the St. Vincent Twp./Meaford, Ont. area; INGLIS in Aberdeen, SCT.; RUSSELL in Dumfries, SCT. cir. 1800-1840; CARLSON in Skövdi, Skaraborgs Län, Sweden. Also seeking information on the parents of Dora LOVELL, wife of William MEIKLE. She died in 1848 in Lachute, PQ, probably in childbirth. Her son stated in the 1890 census that she was born in England, but that's all I know about her.

And finally, I've found a Lanark County connection -- a cousin on my mother's side, has found photographs of a SUFFRON family taken in Perth in the 1890's. The 1891 census and other records show that the family of William SUFFRON and Mary DAVIS lived in Perth and subsequently moved to Ottawa. Their children were Annie, Bertha, Herbert, Percy, Wanda, George and Roy. Other SUFFRON photos found by my cousin show that this family must also have been, or was related to, the SUFFRON family listed in the 1871 census of Montague Twp., children were Laura C., Rebecca J., Caroline M., Cyrus J. and Thomas R.A. I haven't yet checked the 1881 census films to see if any of these children overlap. Mary DAVIS must have been an aunt of my cousin's grandmother, Minnie Bell DAVIS -- probably a sister of Thomas Aaron DAVIS, my cousin's great-grandfather. I would like to contact anyone researching these two families or anyone connected to them.

To recap, here is the complete list of my surname interests world-wide (many not mentioned above) as copied from my Roots Surname List listing.
