My g'grandfather was Thomas BOULTON, b. 1818 in Ontario, Irish origin and a Wesleyan Methodist. The first record we have of him was in 1829, he was living with James and Mary QUAIL at L1 C15 Drummond. He married Maria SHARPE c. 1840. Their first child "Mary" was born in 1842. They farmed where Keith Livingston is located on the 2nd Line. The SHARPEs lived where Hand's Auction Hall is.

My brother and I have found many SHARPEs and BOULTONs (BOLTONs). We cannot find where Thomas came from. My father always maintained that his people were UELs. I have been corresponding with Terry Hoover, whose antecedents might possibly fit with Thomas' dates. We have located most of Thomas' children. I am wondering if the ones we haven't found may have gone West at the turn of the century, and I am currently exploring that possibility.

The gravestone for Thomas and Maria is in St. John's Cemetery, Innisville. The name of their son "James" is inscribed on the reverse. He died in 1929. I suspect that James erected that stone, as it is quite large and modern. I am trying to find that out also. Some of the other children are buried in Boyd's Methodist at Boyd's Settlement.

We thought if we could find out some information on the QUAILs it might lead us to Thomas' origins.

We have the SHARPEs well documented, except for Maria's mother. Zephania. Joseph SHARPE was married in England to Elizabeth ? He married Ann CULLIN when Maria was four years old (1823). We would like to know Elizabeth's last name and where in England Joseph SHARPE came from.

I would be pleased to share any info I have on these families.
