Researching: John Baptist (JB) LASHAY, wife, Mary, daughter, Emma (Lashay) BOWEN, and other daughter, Sarah (Lashay) BRESEE. The two girls were born in Smiths Falls (1842 and 1844), and married in Perth, (1861 and 1862).  There was an older brother, Charles, born in 1832 in Jefferson County, NY. Any info on this family is much appreciated. I am also interested in finding more about John BOWEN, husband of Emma, and any family he might have had in the area. They were Penn Dutch. I spent an hour in Smiths Falls early July 1999, visiting the canal museum and library, where they were very helpful, supplying some of the above info. And I found JB LASHAY mentioned in the History of Smiths Falls.(He was, by the way, my great great grandfather.)
