I also have information on these 3 families, connected to the ALLANs, who emigrated from the British Isles to the Lanark county area:

Robert KELLOCK (1806 - 1883) m. Alicia D. McDONNELL (1810 - 1878), both were born in SCT, Robert emigrated alone, Alicia with her parents Donald & Margaret McPHERSON in 1829.

Isaac CORRY (1799 @ ENG - 1881) m. Jean/Jane RITCHIE (1801 @ SCT - 1859). RITCHIEs came from SCT in 1815.

Rev. Johnson NEILSON (c1796-1857) m. Annie Jane COBURN (1799 - 1887), both were born in (N) IRL, where they married and had their family before emigrating c1836.

Other family lines (emigrants to Maritimes, ON & MB) which I am working on:

William WALLACE : from Devon ENG, m. Hannah VICKERY (d1830) settled in PEI early 1800s; his grandson, Henry, & wife, Phoebe BERNARD, moved to Pointe du Chene NB in 1882.

Alexander BIRSS : (1855-1940) m. 1884 Cynthia V. McDONALD (1863 - 1928) from Aberdeenshire SCT to Gladstone MB area c.1879 and then to Dauphin MB 1888.

Neil McDONALD : from SCT to Caledon ON c.1820s; son, Neil (m. Mary Ann ROSZELL) moved to Bruce Co. ON mid 1800s then to Dauphin MB area 1888.

ROSZELL : family is of English origin, came from New York, USA c.1810 to Belfountain area in ON; Charles ROSZELL (1811 - 1878) m. Cynthia EAGLES (1814 - 1895). their daughter Mary Ann married Neil McDONALD jr. (1832 - 1916).

EAGLES : loyalists from Eastern Seaboard states to Kings Co. NS c.1763 and then to Belfountain ON in 1826 [There is a detailed EAGLES family history book which has been written by Douglas Eaton Eagles]. The RUSHTON family, which married into the EAGLES family followed the same route.

Arthur JAMES : born Dorset ENG 1887, emigrated to Stonewall MB c1908; married Ruby BELL; (gr. dau of Robert BELL (1789 - after 1871) & Johanna HENDERSON (c.1795 - after 1871); from Fifeshire SCT to Hastings Co. They settled in Gloucester, Nepean & Goulbourne townships in Ontario. The daughters: Mary Ellen m: James FLEMING (Finch area), Margaret m: Thomas A BARTON (Carp), Nancy m: Archabald PORTEOUS (Carleton Place & Richmond) & Mabel? m: James Edward McKINLEY/McKINNEY (near Toronto). It is probable that Moses' brother, Thomas, with his wife Jane, arrived at the same time.
