Harriet CARR née ROSE, b 1804, m 1836 in Montague Twp. Hugh ROSS. She had two daughters, Rachel and Eliza Carr, both b. 1820s in the US. Need their marriages or deaths. Eliza CARR may have married Daniel or Donald EASTMAN.

A picture in the book Montague by Glenn Lockwood shows a storefront with the name "A. F. ROSE" at Roseville. Who was he, and where did he live? He was not present in 1861 Census, nor is Alvin ROSE, his probable father. In Smiths Falls by the same author, Alvin F. ROSE was an innkeeper and meat inspector who lived in or near Smiths Falls. Any help appreciated.

Added March, 1999:
Has anyone researched or indexed the BMD information from Ottawa newspapers in the 1800s? In the 1881 Census, Mary ROSE was aged 99 years and living with her daughter in Montague Tp, Lanark Cte. She was born in 1782 in New York, maiden name not proved. Her husband Ezekiel ROSE died in the 1850s in the Montague area. I am unable to get a death certificate or to locate any church records. No gravestone found for her or her husband. Was she the last living Loyalist? Any help appreciated.
