    Seeking ancestors of William Blair (c1778-1858), possibly born at Paisley, and wife (married 1815) Catherine Sym (c1786-1873). This couple had seven children; John (1815-1818), Hugh (1817-1910), John (1820-1909), all born at Gorbals Parish, Glasgow, Jane (1822-1914), Janet (1825-1890), Henry (1828-1903), James William (1835-1914), all born in Bathurst Township, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada. William Blair and Catherine Sym-Blair emigrated to Canada in 1821 via the vessel “Alfred”. William and Catherine also apparently traveled (to Canada) with some relatives; James Blair (most likely William’s brother), James’ wife and one child; another James Blair, who was single; Henry Blair, his wife, their two daughters and one son; another William, who was single; and an Andrew Blair

    Seeking ancestor/family information for Dorothea Blake (c1765-1828) born Ballinglen, Preben Parish, County Wexford , Ireland. She had at least four brothers and one sister; John, Joseph, Robert, Cuthbert and Ann and the family seemed to have connections/relations in Counties Wicklow and Carlow. Dorothea first married (c1790) to unknown man named Richardson by whom she had three daughters; Mary (b. c1791), Ann (b.1792) and Elizabeth (b. c1794). In 1801 she married John Greenley/Grinlay/Greenlee/Etc. (1775-1854) born at Townland of Knockadawk, Kiltrish Parish, County Wexford, Ireland. Tennant of White family at Peppardscastle. Served as a dragoon under Hawtrey White in the Ballaghkeen Yeomanry and wounded in 1798 Rebellion. By her second marriage Dorothea Blake-Richardson-Greenley had six children; George (infant death), John (1801-1850), Robert (1806-1899), Charlotte (1808-1828), James (1810-1893) and Jane (1813-1844). John & Dorothea Greenley and children emigrated to Lanark County, (Perth), Ontario in 1817 via the vessel “Betty & Mary”.

    Seeking ancestor/family information on Jane Briggs (1835/36-1908). Daughter of Thomas Briggs (b. c1797, Ireland) & Jane Guinnis/Gunnes who settled Bathurst Township Conc-7/Lot-13 prior to 1819; granddaughter of Stanley Briggs (b. c1770, Ireland), who settled Bathurst Township Conc-8/Lot-11, Lanark County, Ontario, at about the same time. Jane Briggs had siblings Thomas (b.1829), Catherine (b.1834), Christopher (b.1838) and George (b.1841). Jane Briggs married Thomas D. Duffy and had at least seven children; Sarah Jane (b. c1856), Annie (b. c1859), Rebecca (b. c1861), Thomas B. (1862-1924), Mary (b. c1868), Tabitha Catherin (1872-1920), Richard (b.1873). Stanley Briggs and son Thomas Briggs may have been born in County Dublin, Ireland.

    Seeking ancestoral/family information on William Burrows b. c1811, Ireland (possibly County Wexford or County Carlow) and wife Jane Graham. Settled Bathurst Twp., Ontario, Canada probably in the 1820s. William & Jane Burrows had at least two children Mary Eliza (1848-1930) and Robert (b. 1849). Daughter Mary Eliza Burrows married (1874) Robert George Greenley (1850-1919). William Burrows died 1890, South Sherbrooke Twp., Lanark County, Ontario. William Burrows may be connected to (son/nephew of) Thomas D. Burrow c1789-1872, born Ireland, who had wife Mary c1790-1832 and wife Jane Ross 1789-1871.

    Seeking first wife of William Tansley Bygrove (1793-1882) …born at Henlow Parish, Bedfordshire, son of Edward Biggrave/Bigrough (1770-1845) & Mary Tansley (1770-1808) and descendent of James Bigrave (c1715-1742) and Elizabeth Crawley (c1715-1746). William Bygrove joined the Sixteenth (Bedfordshire & Herfordshire) Regiment of Foot in 1812, was convicted at court martial in Ireland in 1814 and sent to the West Indies with the York Chasseurs penal regiment in 1815. William Bygrove fathered one child (Mary Ann1816-1899), and possibly a second daughter (Matilda), both born on Jamaica. Who was the mother of those children? He was shipped (with Mary Ann) to Canada in 1819, demobilized at Quebec and granted land in Bathurst Township, Lanark County, Ontario. He married Janet Padgett (c1824) and fathered seven more children.
