To Senator Jim Munson - Ontario

I am still waiting for your reply of support for Senator Lorna Milne -- if desired, I may be contacted at 905-451-3542 in case you have lost the phone number. Anyone who has been worked in the news world knows replies are necessary.

Your BLUE symbol means you have not yet given a positive reply re census release or your assistant wrote the reply. We are looking for support for a fellow Liberal Senator, Senator Lorna Milne.

As you likely know, Senator Milne presented Bill S-18 on November 2nd, a Bill to amend the restrictions that had been posed by Statistics Canada. It is a non-restrictive Bill, and with support, should move quickly through the Senate and House of Commons.

The Canada Census Committee uses symbols to denote whether a Member of Parliament or a Senator is in favour of any Bills presented. You will find your message board at

    http://www.globalgenealogy.com/Census/Senscore2.htm#ON

Click on your name at the left.

A positive reply will quickly change the BLUE to GOLD.

The Census Records of Canada are released (or supposed to be) every 92-year period -- the 1911 should have been released June 1, 2003.

When this Bill passes, it will ensure all census records, 1911 to 2001 will be released automatically after 92-years from the date of enumeration. This does seem a long time, but these records are a great assistance to ones searching missing family members. Also, the 1911 was the last census taken prior to World War One.

An email answer will be gladly received,

    Sincerely,

    Muriel M. Davidson muriel_davidson@sympatico.ca
    Co-Chair, Canada Census Committee
    Brampton, ON

12/10/2003 -- Jim Munson was appointed to the Senate 10 December 2003.
