06/04/2002 - email from Frances Lourie to Muriel M. Davidson.
    Dear Muriel,

The last time I checked the stats for support from Senators, I noticed there was no response from Sen. Joe. Day.

On Saturday, Joe and I were at a family function together so I addressed the issue.

It turns out he has been supporting and helping Lorne Milne right from the very beginning. He asked that this be changed on the webpage to show his strong support. I confirmed with him that I would be in contact with you.

    Keep up the good work.

    To Senator Joseph A. Day:-

As of December 12, 2001, the Senators Scoreboard on the Post-1901 Census Project, shows that you have yet to reply whether you will or will not support Senator Lorna Milne.

Senator Milne has Bill S-12, which is in Third Reading stage, will be debated and we hope you will help to make the result POSITIVE.

Many across Canada believe only genealogists use census records -- but the numbers include people searching for one or two missing family members, Home Children ancestors. The records are also used in universities in certain courses as teaching aids and for comparisons.

Your personal message board should now be in place at

Another interesting site, with a great deal of reading,

Sincerely hope I receive a positive reply,

    Muriel M. Davidson
    Co-Chair, Canada Census Committee

10/04/2001 - Joseph A. Day was appointed to the Senate on 4 October 2001.
