TOWN HALL MEETINGS |

This page contains correspondence from Cathy MacKenzie, member of the Canada Census Committee, relating to the Town Hall Meeting held in Halifax. Cathy attended the evening session of these meetings. From: Cathy MacKenzie To: Canada Census Campaign List Sent: Thursday, January 10, 2002 4:58 PM Subject: {not a subscriber} Halifax Town Hall meetings Gordon: Just to let you know that I attended the Town Hall meeting in Halifax on Monday evening. I was very impressed by the presentations of the various speakers (all in favour), some of whom I recognized from various genealogical e-mail lists. Their talks were excellent. I didn't hear of this meeting until it was too late for me to do a presentation myself; but after hearing the speakers, I was thankful I hadn't had time to prepare anything, because theirs were so well-done and would have put mine to shame! Most were professionals and as you indicated in your email below, us "ordinary" folk feel the professionals can do so much better! I did hear that the two speakers in the afternoon who spoke against access were NS Government people. Cathy MacKenzie Halifax, NS |
