    To Mr. Kevin Sorenson, MP

Congratulations on being elected as a Member of Parliament -- but you are a bit behind in your correspondence. This is the third letter I have posted to you -- the Canada Census Committee represents all of CANADA so please, do not answer "I only reply to constituents".

You likely did not know you had a personal message board - at

    http://www.globalgenealogy.com/Census/Score1.htm#AB

Just click on your name and you will find a very blank message board!

For your information, ALBERTA is leading with signatures on petitions, needed by the government and stating the residents of Canada desire to have a later census than 1901 available.

    Go to http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Farm/7843/poll.html

Scroll down until you see MEMORANDUM OF LAW by Lois Sparling, an Albertan lawyer. It may be printed and is good reading!

Very possibly, although elected as a Member of Parliament, you did not know the three prairie provinces have never had a Canadian census -- they became part of Canada about 1905.

    QUESTION:-

How will you, as an elected Member of Parliament, vote when Murray Calder's Bill C-312 comes before the House of Commons? Will you be in SUPPORT of census release, and transfer to National Archives?

Both Murray Calder and Senator Lorna Milne, with Bill S-12, are working on behalf of all Canadians as I am. The wording of their PMBs is identical.

Please, let's get rid of the Blue ??? -- the hard work by many people in Alberta deserve better than that. Also, I did hear the Canadian Alliance was totally in agreement on census release -- what about you?

Looking for a POSITIVE reply -- PMBs are FREE votes.

    Muriel M. Davidson
    Co-Chair, Canada Census Committee

11/27/2000 - Mr. Kevin Sorensen was elected to the House of Commons 27 November 2000.
