Chambre des Communes Édifices du Parlement Ottawa On K1A 0A6 Cher Monsieur, Il a été estimé qu'il y a quelques 7.5 million et plus de Canadiens qui sont impliqués dans la recherche généalogique. Ces citoyens en quête de leur passé et de leur héritage Canadien, dépendent énormément des rapports provenant des recensements. Sous la courante législation, les rapports postérieur à 1901 ne seront pas autorisés à l'accès publique après 92 ans, comme l'on été les autres rapports de recensements incluant celui de 1901. Durant les deux dernières années, plusieurs de ces 7.5 million et plus d'électeurs, incluant moi-même, ont envoyé plusieurs lettres et courriels à leurs Membres locaux du Parlement, Ministres du Gouvernement, et Sénateurs exprimant leur consternation et leur opposition à cette législation. Ils ont demandé que cette législation soit amendée, pour permettre l'accès des fichiers des recensements aux publics, 92 ans après la collecte de données, commençant avec le recensement de 1911. Je vous écris, étant donné que vous êtes un membre élu du parlement, pour vous poser la question suivante : Voteriez-vous, en tant que Membre élu de la Chambre des Communes du Parlement du Canada, POUR ou CONTRE un Projet de Loi qui supporterait de rendre public les fichiers de recensement ultérieur à 1901, 92 ans après la collecte de données. These citizens, in their quest for their past, for their Canadian heritage, depend heavily upon the information provided in Census reports. Under current legislation, post 1901 Census reports will not be released to the Public after 92 years, as have been Census reports up to and including 1901. In the past two years, many of those 7.5 million plus voters, including myself, have sent numerous letters and email to their local Members of Parliament, Government Ministers, and Senators expressing their dismay with, and opposition to, this legislation. They have requested the legislation be amended to allow release to the Public of Census records after 92 years, starting with the 1911 Census. I write to you, as my Member of Parliament, to ask the following question: Would you, as a Member of the House of Commons of the Parliament of Canada, having been placed in that position by the voting citizens of your Constituency, vote FOR or AGAINST a Bill supporting release to the Public of Post 1901 Census Records after 92 years, starting with the 1906 Census? A web site has been posted at http://globalgenealogy.com/census to record MP's responses, so that those who are interested, will know the position that their elected representative has (or has not expressed) on the issue.
